Ram Navami, the Hindu festival commemorating the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, is finally here. This year, the festival falls on April 17, and for popular South Indian actress Neha Saxena, it is a time of devotion and spiritual reflection. Talking exclusively to ETimes, the ‘Aaraattu’ actress says, “I’ve been a spiritual person since childhood. So for me, Ram Navami is a crucial time. Here in my Bangalore home, I have a home temple. I wake up early and do the puja by 5 am, followed by the evening 6 pm puja. This year too I observed 9 days of fasting.”She further speaks about how these 9 days have a significant impact on her life, “Ram Navami fasting and pujas have always brought me more focus, calmness, and a better understanding of life. I find my intuitions and decision making abilities getting strong, the emotions are more at ease. You experience a positive aura. I think all these have a great impact on your life.”
Neha Saxena also tells us she is very particular about the puja and rituals, especially about wearing the different colours on respective days, trying to only focus on the positive aspects, and more importantly, the prayers, “My faith in God is very strong.
I feel the presence in every step of my way. Pilgrimage is my kind of travel. I believe in energy. I have visited a lot of temples across the nation. These travels help me evolve as a person, to look within and understand.
From the daily pujas to the temple visits, and finally concluding it with Kanya Pujan, Neha has observed the festive season in all its sanctity.
